Zhora called around today, found me, and took me out to dinner. He apologized for last night and explained himself a little better. Still not sure what's going on, because he obviously didn't want to sleep with me tonight, but he underwent some strange recreation and he also told me that he is getting another part-time job on top of his full-time job, as a truck unloader at Wal-Mart.

I think he's trying to make himself feel less guilty about "taking advantage" of you. I recognize the stupidity of the behaviour from my own youth. Since he didn't want intimacy it means he's trying to appear to be a "nice guy" but he's also trying to move away from you. Paige is right. He really isn't good enough for you. You really need more than intimacy from a relationship. We all do.
